My Story
I am passionate about second language acquisition. My own language learning journey began when I started learning French in Kindergarten. I was fortunate to have outstanding teachers along the way that inspired me and pushed me to succeed. I attended Grove City College where I double majored in French and Spanish Education. Although I wasn't at all proficient in Spanish when I began, I was able to live in México with a Mexican family who helped me learn, grow, and flourish. I continued developing my language skills by living in Canada, Costa Rica, Paraguay, and France. Experiencing the language and culture by living among different groups is what I love most about language learning.
After receiving an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction (Secondary Education: Foreign Language Education/ TESOL), I have taught French, Spanish, and ESOL to students in PreK through the post-secondary level. Teaching students from all over the world is a true joy for me. I strive to be innovative in all my lesson planning to provide a rich language language learning experience for my students. I have recognized from the beginning the importance of technology in enhancing my instruction and in providing my students with the tools and experiences they need to also flourish in their language learning journey.

The professional accomplishment of which I am the proudest is boosting the number of students who were awarded the Seal of Biliteracy in Providence Public Schools. In 2021, there were 93 graduates in the district that received the award. In 2023, that number increased to 211. I am extremely pleased to promote this because I believe that it is critical to highlight the incredible multilingual skills of our students.

Throughout this website, you will find evidence that speaks to my passion for world language education. It is my desire to instill in my students the same passion for learning that was instilled in me and is displayed here.
