Principal's Advisory Committee
Gives advice to the principal on various matters relating to the function of the school. Specifically advocated for the needs of the specialist teachers (art, music, library, Spanish, technology education, physical education).
Departmental Advisory Committee
Reviews resumes and is a part of the interview process in the hiring of new teachers/ staff. Reviews tenure and promotion portfolios and gives recommendations to administration.
Student Enrichment Committee
Provides students with extra curricular activities such as concerts, plays, story tellers, and cultural events. Coordinates with outside presenters and schedules events.
Community Building Hour Coordinator
Schedules activities for each Friday afternoon to support and foster community throughout the school. Activities included partnering upper grade students with lower grade student "buddies," community service such as writing letters to veterans or collecting clothing for the homeless, and collaborative activities to beautify the school such as creating art or cultural projects.
Diversity Committee
A committee of the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development at Rhode Island College, this committee raises awareness of the need for diversity in the field of education. A letter was submitted to the co-deans of education outlining various ways the committee thought the college could improve in the area of more diverse inclusion.
PBS Education Advisory Committee
Helps the PBS affiliate station in Rhode Island to align its programing with current educational standards, suggests new programming to meet the needs of students, and makes other educators aware of the various opportunities that exist through the resources of PBS.
RIFLA New Teacher Mentor
Mentored a new teacher during the 2019-2020 school year. Helped the teacher to develop curriculum, create a plan for classroom management, and seek Rhode Island teaching certification.
ESOL Instructor in Olneyville
Created a free program for primarily Spanish-speaking adults in Olneyville to help them learn conversational English and job skills.
